I own a 2009 Suzuki Grand Vitara 2.4 A/T. I had engine problems and need only one set of piston rings. The engine in my vehicle is a 2.4l J24B VVT engine that is available since 2009 to current models of Suzuki Grand Vitara's. I spoke to two dealerships and both confirmed that in the whole of South Africa there are not a single set of rings available for this engine and that it will take 15 work days to import. This is unacceptable in terms of product support for a vehicle that is around for 5 years already.

This raises a question as to Suzuki South Africa's ability to support their product range. If Suzuki struggles now to keep parts for their vehicles how will the end user struggle in 5-10 years time to find parts? Think twice before purchasing a Suzuki!
