I recently entered a writing competition which accepts only printed documents. I purposefully used PostNet instead of the Post Office out of fear that the package might not reach the destination in time as it needed to be delivered by 30 June. I booked the package for delivery from Johannesburg to Pretoria on the 23rd of June, and paid an additional amount of R165 to have the package delivered by courier overnight. Today, 5 July, I was surprised to find out that the package did not even leave the branch where I booked it. I missed the competition deadline. Thanks PostNet. I now paid money to enter a competition, paid to get my entry there in time and I got nothing in return.
