Gariep Motors
Engine Damage due to improper service

My Vehicle went in for a service in January 2013, 2 months later after driving for 5000km the vehicle overheated without showing prior signs. The vehicle has been with the Gariep Dealership in Kimberley for the past 3 months for diagnostics tests. After 3months Crysler SA came back that there was a water leak and damage is due to me not checking the water gauge. I explained to them the vehicle showed the overheating sign only once and thats when I stopped to call Chrysler Support Centre for come collect the Vehicle. The first response from the Dealership after opening the Engine was that the Radiator Cap was broken. The second response was I was putting water into the Vehicle and the last feedback from Chrysler SA was that I was ran the vehicle without putting water in, so the Damages are due to negligence. The report also shows that there was a leak in one of the pipes. My question is that Gariep Motors were the last to touch and handle my vehicle when it was serviced and they were supposed to do all checks. Why didnt they pick up the water leak if the Vehicle was leasking as the report stated. Now the damages are more than R84 000
