I purchased a vehicle at CMH Nissan Midrand. I was told that the only way I would get finance on my vehicle was to purchase a mechanical warranty from Eqstra Fleet Management. I was assured by the lady at CMH that Eqstra was professional and that my vehicle would be well looked after. As stated in the policy under "Components Covered" The warranty covers "all internal engine components" as well as "Cambelt Failure"

My vehicle went in for 60 000km service. I was told by the dealer that the fanbelt needed replacing. I phoned Eqstra to get authorization for the repairs. I was told that they will not pay for the replacement belt. If I drove the car till the belt failed then I could put in a claim for a new belt!

I decided to cancel my policy. They do not respond to phone calls or e-mails. Eventually when they responded, they got my name and policy number wrong. They call me "Mrs Hoosen". My surname is not "Hoosen" and I am a "Mr" not "Mrs".

I am still waiting for their response...
