CLAIM DECLINED

I have been trying to claim on my policy for my burnt clutch on my vehicle, but the claim was been declined under my MFC Universal Warranty policy.

Pg. 3 of my policy document under "General information", definitions states:

Mechanical Failure": refers to the breaking or burning out of any component specifically listed under the "Components Covered" section (see page 5), arising from the mechanical or electrical failure which cause a sudden stoppage of the functioning of the vehicle, necessitating the repair and/or replacement of such component

I don't understand when they say they declined my claim as In the same policy document, it also states: Pg. 6
22. Clutch: Clutch plate, pressure plate, clutch cable, clutch fork, master and slave cylinder, release bearing, pilot bearing and flywheel are covered against mechanical failure only.

or is the word "against" the imperative word in this whole sentence?

please can someone clarify for me as I feel I'm paying for this policy for nothing and I'm getting nothing in return. also, when is it suitable for one to claim if one is not a mechanic and has no idea if a car needs to be looked at?
