Just back from leave, hence my late registered complaint.
Initially, I called merc Benz Rosebank for approx quote for B service on C180.They said -R3k. Northcliff brn gave quote aprox R3k to R4k.
I took my merc C180 for 'B' service to merc benz Northcliff on 11 Dec 2012 and specifically mentioned noise from engine area to be checked and mentioned that the car was out of service warrantly. I got a call -14h30 that the cost will be R7.5k to R8k to service car WITHOUT addressing the issue of the noise coming from engine. Firstly, this is totally ridiculous to call at such late time to inform of the cost of car service-which was over 100% of approx initial cost and secondly the driver was picking me up at 15h00 (1/2 hr later). I was later informed by Delia that to check out noise coming from engine would require to bring the car in again to do diagnostic tests at -R600 an hour for an unknown number of hours to check. Bearing in mind, that I explained that the car is out of service warrantly, this whole episode leave a sad taste and is a total RIPOFF by Merc Benz Northcliff. Also, to go to work, 4 of us were told to squeeze in back of a C180!!! Kindly awaiting your call.
