BMW South Africa
Why pay for a motor plan???

I have been paying a lot of money every year to extend my BMW motor plan. This morning I took my car in as the one Xenon light turned pink earlier in the week and the auxiliary plug in the centre console came loose and fell into the console. I requested that both Xenon bulbs be changed as I did some research and it is recommended that both be replaced if one is broken. I also asked that the plug be fixed. I just received a call from the service centre telling me that BMW will only pay for one bulb and as they see the console as "trim", they will not pay for the centre console to be fixed. They also informed me that I can pay the R8, 500 for the console... Why would you go through the pain of extending motor plan if it doesn't cover "building" faults? And then, I have spent more time at the service centre this year than at my own house (or so it feels!) as BMW do, what they call "condition-based servicing). So I will probably have to go back next week for the second Xenon bulb to be replaced. And then two weeks later the spark-plug light or brake light or something else needs to be serviced! My next car will definitely not be a BMW!!!
