12:35 on Thursday May 30th at British American Tobacco in Stellenbosch I get a call to say the courier is at reception. As I was in a meeting (Because I didn't get any kind of indication of when they were coming) I took 5 mins in getting to her. This apparently earned me all the disdain that she could muster at that moment.
I opened the outer packaging to ensure that I was receiving what I should. I let her know that I wouldn't sign the POD, as the goods supplied were wrong. She inferred that that was my problem with the supplier and I should sign the POD because I tampered with the tape on your box (the supplier's packaging was still pristine).
When I made the point that It would be tough to inspect my goods without looking into the package (a prerequisite for signing a POD, I suppose), I unknowingly invited more contempt.
That she was annoyed was acceptable. That she failed to maintain a modicum of professionalism, isn't.
