I am writing to express my profound disappointment with my visit at Spur at Columbine Square Johannesburg. I went to your restaurant with high expectations. Not only were my expectations not exceeded, they were not met. I had brought along family and friends (10 children and 15 adults) as it was my little boys 1st birthday. we received the most pathetic service imaginable and the food was a complete disaster. I was at least as surprised to find several problems with the food itself, harder to understand even on a busy day. Considering that i had paid a food bill of R2000. i had only ONE waiter assisting our tables and clearly could not coupe with the amount of patrons.
i would also like to bring to your attention that the smoking room available at the premisses has a huge window that was opened throughout our stay facing directly into the kiddies play area. Considering all the applicable smoking laws, i find this highly unacceptable.
I am sure this experience was a rare aberration from your usual high levels of service and food quality. Unfortunately, it occurred during what should have been a very special day.
