I've always enjoyed visits to various outlets of the Spur franchise across the country when on holiday in SA. I'm not sure if the Spur franchise in general has declined over the years, or it was a particularly bad night for the Mondeor Spur? The service was very poor, the waitress lacked the interpersonal skills required, and kept repeating the order we'd given to her, incorrectly. It was of no surprise when we received starters we hadn't ordered, and when trying to rectify, we were told that "this is what you ordered! " I decided to keep the starter, as it was easier than having to try and rectify the order! A salad was requested with main course but this never arrived. On enquiring, we were told we "hadn't ordered it"!? The standard of the food left a lot to be desired, nothing like my past experience of Spur. Burger pattie resembled a small meat ball, dwarfed in a bun and smothered in thick tasteless gloop, they call "pepper sauce"?! When the bill arrived, we found the missing starters were billed for, as well as the salad that we'd "not ordered" and never arrived, and 3 drinks we never had. Bill resolved after a very long dispute. In all, 1/10 service, 3/10 for food, 6/10 value
