I am a small 65 yr-old woman. My partner and I dined at Kakao, were presented with the bill in a Diner's Club folder, and we produced a Diners Club card to pay. The waitress told us they do not accept Diners Club cards. We asked to see the Manager, a tall well built Chinese man, who also refused the card but could not give a reasonable explanation for doing so. My partner took out the cash to pay and said he would keep the folder as proof and would report this to Diners Club, the manager then hit the folder out of my partner's hand. I objected to this telling the Manager that this was assault and an argument ensued. The Manager then hit me in the face, knocking me out. The assault caused me severe facial bruising, irreversible damage to my eye, and a leg injury when I fell. I laid a charge at the Douglasdale Police Station, who took statements, but nothing has been done since. We now have a civil case pending. I urge all of you out there who stand AGAINST women abuse to refrain from going to this restaurant.
