On Sat 20 July 2013 at 21h10 I bought a pizza at Debonairs Newcastle CBD. I waited inside the store for about 40mins for the pizza. When I confronted the manager, Steve Cooper, all he said was that he had no idea why it took so long, instead of 10mins. He wasn't helpful at all. When I asked to speak to the owner Steve said the owner lives in Australia. I was furious and had to warm the pizza when I got home as it was so cold. I returned to the store on Tues 23 July lunchtime to get Steve's name and the owner's contacts in Australia. With a big grin Steve told me there was no way to contact the owner. He added that if I report to Debonairs head office they would phone Steve and ask him to phone me, which was pointless, as Steve implied. If Steve is right I'll be very disappointed in the Debonairs group. Since this incident I've heard similar shocking stories of poor service/ late delivery /bad attitude from this same store and manager. I wonder if the owner is aware that his manager is sinking this ship.
