My father used a FNB ATM an hour and ahalf ago and the ATM "swallowed" his card. When my father went to report this to the bank. The bank informed him that the card had since been used at a clothing store for a purchase for 2 purchases - one for R6, 500.00 and another for R3, 000.00.

My father has a daily limit on the card and has to go inside the bank and sign for the limits to be increased. This was over-rided, somehow! If this is not someone from the bank, then who has the authority to over-ride limits?

Now the bank says that this will take 8 (eight) weeks to resolve! what is there to resolve? the purchases were, my father went to report the card as soon as it was "swallowed" by the ATM. Almost R10, 000.00 was taken from their bank account and now the bank says they must wait 8 weeks...

FNB should be reasonable in their resolving problems, especially if a blatant case of is obvious and was reporeted to the bank in time. My parents have always banked with FNB and now they have to struggle to get decent assistance.
