In December 2012, I opened an Investec Top 5 Investment account. Prior to opening it, I had a meeting with the Investec Consultant, Demaine Arendorff. He explained to me in detail how the account works and I was happy.
He clearly said that my fund would be available immediately should I need money at any given point.
December 2012 the account was opened and I deposited R19, 000.00 into the account. Around February 2013 I deposited R5000.00.
April 17 2013 I needed to withdraw R4000.00 from the account. I was then told I would be charge R750.00 penalty fee if I want the money within 90days. Only then I was made aware of the R750.00 fee.
An Investec Consultant Lerato Tabane explain that the R750.00 fee is the minimum amount that I would be charged. Weather I want to with draw R100.00 or R20, 000.00 the penalty fee would remain the same. On the Investec website account info profile, it does not mention any penalty fee what so ever
I would therefore ask Investec to reverse the penalty, and I understand that lots of other people are in the same situation.
i Have tired to contact Demaine and send him emails, but all my efforts were unsuccessful. Please help!!!
