I approached Standard Bank to settle and close my Revolving credit account in October 2012. They closed my cheque account instead. They eventually sorted that out. In the mean time I stopped transacting on this account as I was in the process of closing this account. Service fees went off monthly which is ok as long as the service was available to me. At one stage I received a call from legal which adviced me that i was in overdraft and I had to settle. I went to the ATM to do a deposit but was unable to transact on my account. I went to the branch and got agreement that service charges will be reversed from the date that I was not able to transact. they also promised that they will attending come back to me in 48 Hrs and stop all legal proceedings. Two to three weeks later I received a call from a laywer. I went back to the branch two weeks in succesion and an average of two hours per session I was promised a resolution and again within 48 Hrs. Not once on any promise had anybody contacted me.
I should not be paying for a service that does not exist.
