Failling to close account

July 2011 i went into Standard Bank Clearwater branch to close an account. I asked the teller what was the outstanding balance because i would like to settle this account and close it.
I was given a figure which i paid. I have not heard anything from Standard Bank with regards to this account as the year went by, i did however receive a letter in 2012 saying that i must contact the bank because my account has been in arrears for the amount of R76, 00 for admin fees and interest, i was put on the credit bureau for this. I contacted the call centre to complain and i was told that i must go into the branch and close the account. off with that comment. Many calls to sort this out but up to this day no joy.
I am currently in the market to purchase a property but i cannot because of a bad scoring on accounts held by Standard Bank. I have no more airtime to entertain anymore of Standard Banks consultants. Hello Peter is step one. Step two will be taken if this matter is not sorted
