Nedbank stopped telephone (Telkom line) banking for their clients on 31st March, 2013 without any explanation. Only a voice message on the system informed the date it was to be stopped. They say that there are still other ways available to client, e.g. internet, branch, cellphone, etc.
All these have risks compared to telephone banking which has been the safest.
All the banks & the ombudsman's records have evidence of this if Nedbank takes the trouble to check the number of incidences reported by all banks.
I suspect that it was stopped because it is free. It now costs me between R80 & R140 per month extra to do the same transactions I did by telephone banking.
All other banks still give their clients telephone banking facility
