First National Bank
FNB thinks it is above the law

On Friday the 12th of April 2013, I went to the FNB branch in town to open an account. Upon arrival, I was told that I could not open a cheque account with my passport. When I told the staff that in terms of legislation, a passport is a legal form of identification, they told me that FNB's rules state that they are not allowed to accept a passport. Clearly FNB's staff thinks that the law is something that only non-fnb employees should care about as FNB is above the law. Over the weekend I found my ID book and then on the following Monday, I went to the FNB in VaalMall and was met by the most incompetent woman ever to work at FNB. There I was told that my printed electronic statement is not a valid proof of address and that I should bring one of my parents with to come and prove to her that I actually live where the statement shows I live!!! This is absolutely ridiculous thing I have ever heard of in my life! a 33 year old man has drag his mommy with because the bank lady is a nasty woman! FNB is also as there was no white person around that could assist me in my own language! BEE does not mean replace all the whites with blacks!
