Department Of Home Affairs
This beyond a Joke... pASSPORT

I live in Spain and applied for a passport in 2011. We are now in 2013. I am still where I was in 2011 no passport.

I got married in 2011 and because I live in Spain woman here do not take on the husbands surname so have always used my original surname. Now for me to get a passport I have to proof my surname. As some clever or not so clever person decided in their own wisdom to change my surname without me even knowing that my surname is now changed. In fact I found out today I have a new surname... That is after trying for 2 years to just get a passport. It is left up to me to proof who I am and what my surname is. I can not travel my father got really ill in a few days and passed away and I could not even be with him in his final day and not even be there for the funeral. I am basically stuck in Spain until they can figure out who I am???

I have gotten divorced in the mean time and so there was really just no need for a surname change and nobody has the right to just take it upon themselves to change somebodies surname without their ok to do so.

ALL I NEED IS A PASSPORT SO I AM FREE TO TRAVEL WHEN I NEED TO IT IS MY RIGHT AS A HUMAN BEING TO HAVE A PASSPORT
