I closed my ABSA accounts (cheque, savings, credit card, personal loan) some time last month. My cards were destroyed in the branch and it was confirmed that my accounts were indeed closed.
I received account statements today, as well as an sms stating that my credit card account is blocked for transactions... but according to my knowledge ALL accounts have been closed.
When I checked into it now it seems my accounts are still active, and I was told that I need to go into a branch AGAIN to sort this out.
I WILL NOT GO INTO A BRANCH AGAIN!!!
Sort this out.
