Difficult to retrieve funds

I transferred funds to closed Standard bank account in Jan 2013. When the recipient did not receive the funds, I realized that the funds were transferred to a closed account. On the 7 Feb, I sent through a request to ABSA disputes to retrieve the funds. They firstly got commitment from me to paid the upfront fees and commit to exclude them from any obligations which I did. They removed the fees from my account. I sent them many queries on the status of the funds but the last response was for "missing payments to investigate". Its now 2 months past and I am wondering if I could ever get the funds refunded to me. Very sad for pathetic service like this.
