I transferred money through my internet banking profile to a recipient who banks with ABSA, I selected the "Pay and clear now" option as I needed the funds transferred ASAP. As I am writing this complaint, the recipient has yet to be paid. So I have one question to ask, What is the point of "Pay and clear now"!? I have called the FNB call centre, and was informed that the funds have left FNB, and it is sitting with ABSA, and that the recipient must check with ABSA. I'm sorry but I did not pay ABSA for the immediate clearance, I paid FNB, and so it is your responsibility to ensure those funds get cleared immediately. So basically I paid an extra premium for nothing. Had I not chose to pay and clear now, these funds would have been available by now (coming from past experiences). So either you sort this out, or I want a refund on the premium paid.
