I will never recommend ABSA idirect to any of my friends or family. To claim is a nightmare. As it usually happens everything goes wrong at the same time. On 23 March 2013 my swimming pool pump stopped working after a thunder storm. I submitted a claim on line on the 25th of March after no one answered my call on 0860 20 21 22 (and you cannot register a claim over the weekend). I tried phoning numerous times but with no success. Someone eventually called me back on 28 March to register the claim, and told me they will send someone out to have a look at the pump. The guy only came out today (9 April) to have a look at the pump and confirmed only getting the call on the 8th of April to have a look at the pump. My swimming pool by now looks disgusting...
