After rejecting our claim in Jan 2013 for our house burglary claim because we didn't have an alarm and coming up with every excuse not to pay us, they go and take out money from our accounts without permission. The didn't want to insure for us for our household contents as we needed an alarm so we converted our policy to a car only policy. We spoke/ sent a mail to our broker on the 13 March 2013 and we received a mail that changes were done on the 20 March of 2013. Santam went ahead and debited our account with two different amounts, resulting in two other debits being rejected and rejected fees deducted. We queried this and they said we need to send them our bank statement which I have sent to my broker. I called Santam myself to find out exactly what went wrong, they agreed to reimburse me but is not willing to pay the rejected debit order fees of R230. Santam is blaming our broker for this mishap. Someone needs to take responsibility! The broker or Santam needs to reimburse us the 2 rejected debit order fees with the incorrect debit amount. Which results to R795.00. I want answers
