Delayed Balance, bad service

Every time I buy something or a debit order needs to go off or any deductions it's late. The worst is that my current balance is negative as a result of late adjustments to my available balance.
On the 25th I bought good at SPAR for the value of /- R800. One would trust that the amount will be deducted within minutes, however it is currently taking days. The Spar purchase was only deducted from my balance on 4 April 2013. This is bad bad bad service, how am I supposed to plan or do anything if my available balance is wrong and behind. I mean do I now have to walk around with a book and pen and manually calculate my balance after each purchase I make.
The problem this is causing is that if I check the available balance and it's R600 and I go to the shop and purchase something to that value it will only be deducted days later, by then previous delayed deductions have been deducted and leaving me with a negative bank balance.
I need this fixed and my balance reinstated to that before my purchase from Spar, this will come at your expense to make up for the inconvenience. To think I was thinking of moving my wife's account and fathers account to standard bank. Angry Me.
