I purchased a Samsung Tablet through FNB on their special offer to cheque account holders. Just out of warranty, suddenly it freezes up and I can do nothing with it. I took it in to Samsung Customer Service Centre in Boksburg, who proceeded to quote me over R4000 to have it fixed!! This is basically the cost of a new one, and upon querying what was wrong, I was told the motherboard had gone, and sometimes 'this just happens'! If I had dropped the tablet, caused water damage, I would have been obliged to accept the fact that I was still paying off on an item which I couldn't use. I called the FNB call centre to complain, and was told 'sorry - not our problem' to which I asked to speak to the supervisor as I simply can't accept this, and was told Gloria would phone me back. This is now a week later and still no call. THIS IS NOT THE SECOND TIME I'VE HAD THE ATTITUDE OF 'NOT OUR PROBLEM' FROM FNB. I have been with this bank for years but at the moment am seriously considering switching even if it cost me a bit more each month.
