I am a Premier banking client and have been a loyal client to FNB for a significant number of years. I applied for a home loan 3 weeks ago and was yet to get a response until i decided to call the Call Centre today. I was shocked to learn that my application had been declined because of affordability. The application was decline taking into account that i have a monthly disposable income of more than R15000 and the house that i wish to buy costs less than R600k. My offer to the seller unfortunately expired today and i have to let the property go. I guess as a client i have been naive to only apply at one finance institution. I never thought that I would one day consider this, but I now need to consider moving my account to another institution.
