RFUND OF MONEY

On 12 November 2012 while doing an eft payment I inadvertently paid an amount of R1300 into my old cell phone provider MTN's account instead of into my new cell phone provider's account.

On realizing my mistake I went to my bank (Nedbank Eastgate) reported the matter and asked them to reverse the transaction. I was told that I need not worry, as MTN would reverse that payment automatically. After two months of waiting and not receiving the payment, I again went to the bank and was now told that I would have to make an application for the money to be returned and there would be a R300 charge and there was no guarantee the money would be paid back.

I now went to MTN Eastgate and told them the story and was told that I should phone 808 and tell them what has happened. I did this but 808 would not accept the call as I was not a MTN subscriber. I went back to MTN Eastgate and was given a land line number to phone, but this number was a fax number. I went back to MTN once more and spoke to a lady who was very helpful and took all my details down and she said she would fax the application for a refund to the accounts department and I would get the refund within a couple of weeks.
