Standard Bank The Glen - Horrible service

I went into the branch (The Glen) on Thursday to close the account. I was told there are charges on the account and I would need to settle that first before the account could be closed. I proceeded to make the deposit into the account of the amount advised by the rude receptionist. After which she advised I sit in the queue and wait for someone to assist me with the closure of the account. Note, this was on a Thursday and the branch was not even full. I asked the receptionist when I was going to be assisted as there were so many available staff huddled around her desk having fat conversations but not even giving me a second glance. She told me in an abrupt rude tone "someone will come" I waited a further 10 - 15 minutes after which someone went to her and said if anyone is waiting for sales assistance she must treat them as priority and notify someone at once to assist, implying account services are not that important. ThenI asked what about if i want to close my account, after which she said if i'm in a hurryI can write a letter instructing them to close the account. When i heard that I was disgusted. To date the account is still open and NO ONE HAS CALLED ME BACK.
