Cheap Tactics to Retain Customers

I wanted to close my credit card account with Std Bank. I called the card division for the settlement amount. I was told to pay R2 530, 18. I deposited this amount. When I called them to close the account the following day I was told that I can't close the account because I must settle the account with R4, 16. I deposited this amount. When I called to close the account, I was told that the account cannot be closed because I need to settle the account with R10, 60. I am now left in limbo because I know if I deposit this R10, 60 they will come back tomorrow and say that I can't close this account because i need to settle account. I don't even want to mention the arrogance and attitude of their so called "customer service agents".

I don't know why Std Bank is resorting to these cheap tactics, because this is pushing me further away from Std Bank. But what they are doing makes them a "beep bank".

Please Std Bank tell me what amount i should pay to settle and close this credit card account.
