Outsurance was advertising that they will beat your current short-term insurance quote or pay you R400. So I sent them the required sms. I finally got a call from one of their agents and went through the entire process of getting a quote. I literally sat with my current schedule in front of me to ensure it was a like for like comparison. After the agent gave me the final premium I informed him that it was not lower than my current premium. In fact it was about R200 more expensive. I gave him my current premium as confirmation. I then asked how I could claim the R400 as advertised. The agent informed me that I would get instructions with the emailed quote he was sending me. I then received a second call from the same agent informing me that he had 'pulled some strings' and now, amazingly, they were able to beat my current premium... by a whole R20 (or there about). So officially they did beat the premium, but only after I disclosed my current premium to the agent. So now all I have is a wasted sms and a lot of wasted time, but still no R400. A bit of a cheat if you ask me?!
