Ever heard the ad that Outsurance will pay you R400 if they cannot beat your current insurance premium? Please do not believe this LIE! I asked Outsurance for a qoute and their price was R200 more than what I am currently paying. Unfortuntely I made the mistake of telling them my current premium. The agent then referred my quote to a manager for "discount". After a massive discount they manage to conviniently get in just under my current premium. In my opinion they offer the massive discount to dodge the R400 promise. They know that nobody will go through the trouble to change their insurance for a mere 0.2% savings. They then offer the "discounted" premium either in the hope that one will not take offer or with the intention to recover the "discount" at next premium increase. Or worse, maybe they are overcharging their customers by these massive "discount" margins in the first place. Talk about bending backwards... for themselves.
