I took out the policy in 2011. I was referred and admitted at Midlands Hospital in Pietermaritzburg from the 19/07/2012 to 03/08/2012 for hospitalisation. After discharge from hospital I submitted a claim to Chartis Life for compensation as per their hospital cash back plan policy. They asked me to forward them with a lot of documents to support my claim. I posted 82 pages on 02/10/2012 which they acknowledged receipt thereof. Each time I phoned them for feedback on my claim, they told me that they were working on it and was still under investigation. I even went to see them twice in Parktown on the 05/11/2012 and on the 04/02/2013, and they told me the same thing which is they are working on it. On Thursday 21.02.2013 I was told to send more documents, which I did. I am really frustrated as to what to do now. Yesterday on the 19th of March 2013, I received a call from Mr Zainul Khan from Chartis. He told me that my claim has been rejected. When I took out the policy with Chartis, I was never told that it could be rejected. I did not choose to be admitted. They are ripping people out. I want to be refunded all my monthly premiums.
