Pathetic Service from Absa!!!

My husband and I applied for a home loan through Absa 4 weeks ago, and we still have no answer.
Reason for making use of Absa is because my husband is a staff member and a better rate is one of the few benefits that he gets as an employee. However 4weeks down the line and after having to send through the documentation twice and After having spoken to the manager of the quality and scoring department and the Action Line manager had been made involved a week ago, we still have no answer.
What we do know and we know this only because we have been asking, is that the loan has been approved to 90% and it is pending on evaluation.
But now I ask - can this really take 4weeks? According to my knowledge the turn around time was said to
be 7 days.- FNB gave a 100% loan to a friend of mine within four days start to end - on the fourth day he had the final grant in hand. Now they are only granting 90% of a loan and telling me that e can borrow the difference on his Pension - so now he has to gamble with his retirement as well. I would like feedback on my home loan today - I would also appreciate fast tracking the Pension based loan process to prevent us from losing this property!
