We took out our Business Insurance and Personal Insurance from Jacobsohn & Mellet Insurance Brokers selling Hollard Insurance Policies.
We had problems from day one with our Business Insurance claim when the power went out for two days due to cable. Hollard declined the claim stating we are not covered for that type of interruption, while the broker ensured us the day he came to sell us the policy that we are covered for all electrical interruption that can put our stock at risk.
Thus we lost R15 000 in income and both Hollard and the brokerage just said sorry this all happened during a period where my husband thought cancer and I had to battle this all on my own.
When we submitted a Personal claim a month ago for our wooden floors in our rooms that were lifting, the assessor they send and sort of specialist provided reports that had complete incorrect information on leading to our claim being declined.
We proofed to them that they were wrong on our own cost and now they are dragging their feet once more waiting for this quote and that report.
Please do not fall for their trap of cheaper insurance instalments - it means bad service.
