Wish to object in the strongest terms to the result of my bond application.
History: I am a government employee with 15 years service and have had two bonds in the past with a faultless payment history. During 2012, due to water damage, all the tiles lifted in my then property and we later established that this was a construction fault. I had to apply for a personal loan of R20 000. The shoc
king max interst given to me as a client of FNB at 32 % made me wonder whether I am dealing with my bank or a loan!! Fortunately, I was able to settle this debt from a small inheritence. I recently signed an offer to purchase and presented FNB with a very good credit rating on my application together with the necessary income to justify the amount I needed namely R950 000. I was offered R800 000 at 14% interest. I was told that I am a high risk client due to the fact that I am a single apllicant and that I am therefore charged prime plus 7 and a half %. This is discrimination in the highest degree. I am planning to take this to the highest authority within Legislature - my current employer who is a major client of FNB. FNB - How can we NOT help you!!!
