I bought a repossessed Absa property. The previous owner was insolvent. Trustees was appointed- Nawaal Cloete Attorneys- contact person Danielle. I paid R2000 per month for early occupation. After 1 month the water was cut off by the municipality, because the previous owner rates was in arrears. I still kept paying my occupational rent. Three months later the water account was paid and occupation was possible again. The trustees and transfer attorneys was informed about the situation. The trustees even promissed to send me a claim form. This never happened. I tried to complain to Absa, but they just dont want to help me. They said I must sort the problem out with the trustees. The trustees say the case is closed. How can Absa bank not take responsibility for a house I bought from them and for almost R6000 I paid towards them in the 3 months I could not occupy the property before it was register in my name??? Is it fare to pay occupational rent for a property a person can not occupy-I dont think so!
