I wrote a report on 12 April 2012 and this issue has since not been resolved.
I have sent countless emails to JM attorneys to have the listings on my credit records removed as it has prescribed in terms of the Prescription Act (68 of 1969) of the South African law. They have very politely informed me that they would be in contact with their client to discuss this matter, but if I understand this correctly, they have bought the debt and are now trying to collect on this prescribed debt.
NOW, I am at wits end with this issue. Please send through the instruction to your "JM" attorneys to have these listings removed or summons me to court where I WILL raise the defense of PRESCRIPTION!!!
We have all read the numerous complaints and CARTE BLANCHE expose of this law firm 'bending' the law to suit them. We as consumers will NO longer stand for this.
If these listings are not removed within 20 business days, I will lodge a complaint with the Credit Ombud
