If DMC does not respond to your request after several attempts, log a complaint with the Council of Debt Collectors. Their website is [URL Removed] this will get them to react very promptly.
I've also put through a dispute with the Credit Bureau regarding the Prescribed Debt and they acted on my behalf to get the dispute resolved, this matter was resolved within a week.
The onus is up to you to know the law and your rights, know the Prescription of Debt Law, any debt older than 3 years with no proof of payment by yourself falls under the Prescription of Debt Law. Debt Collecting agencies/companies buy your Prescribed debt and then these said companies harass you for debt that has been Prescribed. Know your rights and the Prescription of Debt Law, it is in your interest.
