Struggling to get a PAID UP lette

I called Nedbank earlier this week to get a PAID Up letter for my homeloan that was paid up in 2007, whenvi sold the property.. The homeloan call-centre told me to go the the branch, and to my suprise, when i got to the branch they told me to call the homeloan call centre, cause they cant assist me, i called them again and was asked a lot of questions, including cellfone numbers that used 6 yrs ago, and i couldnt remember some information, and callcentre reffered me back to the bank again so they can request the letter on my behalf, then after spending a lot of time inside the bank, browsing between enquires and calling the call-centre, I was told that i wont be able to get the letter cause my account shows that its paid up, but the attorneys never cancelled the bond with nedbank..

I could not understand why i cant be issued with paid up letter if the system confirms so as well, anyhow, i then called the attorneys and they didnt understand why nedbank says the acc is not cancelled, cause their sytem shows it was canceled in 2007, Then i called the callcentre again to request the letter.

I dont understand why it is so difficult to get a paid up letter, even when i'm inside a bank
