On 05.03.13 i requested a paid up letter from African Bank, and was shocked to see that my settlement amount is almost R1700.00 more than my actual balance. My first payment was deducted at the end of February 2013. When i called the customer services line i was told that the R1700.00 was for admin fees and because i ended the contract before the end date. This was the first i've heard of a financial institute charging you extra for settling your account, how was i suppose to know 3 months into the contract that i would come into money. Other institutions give you a write off on interest and charges when settling your account with them. I will never take out a loan with them ever again and will inform all my friends, family and collegues and who ever wants to listen of the way they do business. it stinks, its up
