In November 2012 ABSA advised me that if I upgrade from student to a Platinum status on my debit card I qualify for a priority card. This will allow me to sit in the VIP lounges at International airports whiles waiting for my connecting flights. This was the main reason why I took advantage of this deal in February 2013 as I travel frequently and are on my way to Austria. When upgrading to Platinum status ABSA had no Debit cards available at he branch and it is now three weeks an I have still not received said card.

ABSA advised me last week only after I did the upgrading that the Priority cards are discontinued for all new members. Only previous clients before December have these benefits and can renew it annually.

I pay the same bank fee costs as other Platinum clients but do not get the same benefits. If ABSA told me this before I changed my account I would not have done it.

I have been client of ABSA since it was Trust Bank. About 25 years. All my accounts are with ABSA

I feel a fended that ABSA promises you a deal an service and within two months withdraws it but the bank charges stays the same but still allows other clients to get better benefits
