I opened a Standard Bank account about a month ago and that was the beginning of my problems. Since I've opened my account the first time, when I was assured everything is ready to use, I had to go in the my branch 3 times every time with the same promise. Today when wanted to use my internet banking for the first time and a message came up saying I have go to my branch again to connect my new card to the account for the second time was the last straw. My nearest Standard Bank is 50km away and I can only go on Saturdays when the bank is overflowing when people so I tried to call the bank, who set up my account, and they did not answer the whole morning. I would have closed my account by now if I did get a student loan from them. I already started paying interest on the loan, but have not been able to access the features to it. Too many people at Standard Bank pulling up their should and nobody trying to help sort out the problems for good. I've been with Capitec for over two years and never had such problems.
