I applied online for a new FNB account and moved my salary to this new account. Online it says new customers qualify for the Smartphone/Tablet offer which means you can get a iPhone or iPad at a cheaper rate when you open the account. So I opened the account and thought someone would contact me in regards to this but it never happened as said on the website. So I called FNB and enquired and I was told that there needs to be money in the account before the offer can be processed which is false advertising as it says when the new account is opened you can apply for the smartphone/tablet offer. It does not say anywhere you need money in the account 1st before you can apply. Anyway, I waited and my salary was paid into the account and still no one called me in regards to this so called offer. FNB is passing the buck and advertising something that you cant get just to get new customers to open new accounts. So I thought FNB would be better than my previous bank. Not a chance. And I wont begin on the bank charges. Madness! And the interest on loans is a joke. You pay R700 on your loan then they add interest and which adds up to the amount you paid in so you will never settle the loan. Skelms..
