FNB advertise a promotion on Samsung S4 package for new account holders. I opened a new account on 12 June 2013 (Platinum) with credit card. The promotion ends 30 June. I send SMS 24 June to take up this offer. As it was too late to switch debit orders for end June my salary will only be paid into the FNB account end July. I was told by the agent that phoned, in response to my SMS, I will only qualify for a smartphone device once my salary is paid into FNB (end July). This will disqualify me from the S4 promotion package.
Why was this condition not made clear on the promotion? I would not have considered taking up the offer and avoided a bad experience with FNB from start. Making the change from my previous bank after 30 years was not done easily. Maybe I should have taken more time in making this decision
