Standard Bank
Forced to sell Sentimental gold chain

I drove to my local petrol station to fill fuel in my car on 17 February 2013 at around 15:30, I filled R400 and used my StandardBank debit card to pay. The attendant swiped the car only to discover that it was declined. The transaction was done and it was declined again, I then told the attendant that its not possible, caus I know I had sufficient funds and he must escort me to a nearby atm, upon using the atm I discover that my balances were all ZERO! And further none of my mobile cellphone banking apps were working. I was then forced to sell my gold chain which I received for my 21st birthday for a ridicules R400 in order to pay my fuel.

This is the second time that I have had a major problem with Standard bank, prveious to this encouner I had a saving account that I had for 10 years, I had to open a new account because on the old account my account was being debited every month for a holiday that I never authorize! My bank charges and debits amounted to an excess of R2500, when I brought the problem to the attention of Standardbank, their response was "there's nothing we can do"!!!

I always looked up to standard bank... but now cant even trust them to keep my funds safe
