My daughter has been granted a student current account with Nedbank, to apply for this account she had to prove she was a student - No problem she issued all her documentation as she is a bonafide UNISA student, she already has her BA and is now completing her Post Grad. She subsequently opened a savings account (with monthly charges) and then applied for a credit card with a R500 limit. This was declined!!! she has part time employment and is financed partically by her father as well (also a nedbank customer) She also has an investment portfolio with Nedbank in excess of R10k and a current credit rating as she has a long standing debit order with virgin active. On further investigation Nedbank chose decline her credit card as they do not recognise UNISA!!! I ask how come then she was granted a student account in the 1st place as a UNISA student. This is clearly double standards as well as discrimanatory. Nedbank kindly explain!!! Ihave also said that i would stand as surety for her, but that was also declined
