I am a young adult who took out a student loan to further my studies with Nedbank with help from my mother, it was said that i would pay for the initial student loan amount and she would be responsible for the interest rates, my mother failed to pay the interests rates and Nedbank put me on ITC instead of my mother. i then applied to several jobs which i could not get as i was on ITC and finally when i did eventually get a job, i approached Nedbank and proposed that seeing that my mother could not own up to paying the interests to consolidate that student loan inot a new loan that i will pay fully seeing that affordability wise i can afford it as i have nothing that i have to pay month end and they declined me - with reason that i must pay the whiole amount and i will be removed from ITC once i have fully paid the outstanding balance.im young & since i have gooten a job i cannot buy anything as my credit record is bad and the people that put me on ITC dont want to consolidate it into a new one and they want me to pay the whole amount before being removed. What i do not understand is why did they put me on ITC instead of my mother and why cant they consolidate that loan and il pay
