I Put in an offer on a property held by ABSA on the 1st Feb 2013 for R1 500 000, my offer was for R1.5m - R1000 000 cash and finance for the rest. i was very happy to see that an offer of R1 500 000 was accepted on the property but was later to find that the offer accepted was not in fact not mine but one belonging to another party who placed an offer on the same day that i did (1st feb) which sounds fair enough but the alternate offer was through AN AGENT where as mine was direct (obviously leaving ABSA in a better off position not having a third party cost) mine was also CASH as opposed to finance having to be raised. through out this process over the last 2 days (since the offer was accepted) i have made numerous calls to the department (Riaaz and Bakane - both very amicable and helpful) who have promised to get to the bottom of this and get back to me - to no avail! the most Unhelpful person has definitely been Thelma Hlatswayo, who either does not read her mail properly or simply does not care. Either way the service and communication from ABSA has been appalling and i would like to put it out there that there is CRONYISM involved in there "fair processes)
