In Oct last year, I was going through a bit of a bad patch financially. I advised Standard bank that I would not be paying my credit card for 2 months being Nov and Dec, but that the full arrear amount would be settled in January.
My card was being declined and after I contacted them, was informed that my account was suspended and would not be reinstated until the full balance is settled.
I requested they re-consider their decision in light if the fact that they were made aware of my situation and the fact I adhered to my payment date promised to them. They answered NO.
It is very disappointing that after being a loyal customer for almost 10 years, that this is stance they've decided to take. I have, in all that time, not defaulted on making regular payments.
